Makin sandwiches and goofin around..

Yesturday was "Making Sandwiches Day" at LCI for the students. Really it was a photo op but isn't everything we do? I was expecting a lot more then what it actually was because the kids had been bringing in cute aprons and little scarfs for their hair all week..however it was not so elaborate. The menu was strawberry jam, or ham and cheese. I was thinking I'd perhaps make myself a sandwich and have it for lunch that day as we were making our sandwiches about 45 minutes before lunchtime. I was a little jaded though because the Korean staff were washing the veggies in the bathroom sink of the girls bathroom...um..no thanks. So we got our aprons and got ready for the tray of supplies that was supposed to come, it came, 40 minutes late. Seriously we spent more time taking pictures then it actually took us to make sandwiches!!! The kids had fun though and really, that's all that matters!

Today was chilled out for a Friday. We got all of our work done in kindy and goofed off a bit with the camera. After lunch I popped some popcorn and we played UNO! We hadn't had time to play a game for a very long time so I thought today was the perfect day for it. In my afternoon classes it was also a pretty tame day. My all boy class is doing well so we also had some popcorn and I taught them to play scrabble, they weren't too bad! The last class of the day had essay writing which I enjoy because I don't have too teach to much and it is always the last class on Friday :)

I did have some interesting spelling mistakes today though that I would like to share with you. In the first photo look at long and .... and the second one look at paragraph one..hehe. I have to make them think that their work is great when I say I want to take a photo. They were both so proud! That's bout it for today I hope everyone has/had a great Friday! xoxoxo

I also have to mention..Kaylee smiled for a photo today! It's a miracle :)

I found your blog by pressing the "next blog" button. I read in your profile that you used to be in broadcasting and I'm in broadcasting, So I thought I'd say hi!
Also I was wondering, if one of your kids wanted strawberry jam on their ham and cheese sandwich, would they be allowed? ;-)
Hey Mark...what type of broadcasting are you in? TV or Radio? As for ham and cheese and strawberry jam...it was done...it was done.
The jam and ham and cheese is just the way of sandwiches. There wasn't supposed to be a choice - just all of the ingredients on there! Last year we had mayonnaise too.
Luckily most of my kids had good common sense and went for either jam..or the ham and cheese..but Owen had to be different and have all the toppings in one sandwich..I don't think he liked it but he ate it anyway..I'm sure if we had mayo this year he would have slopped that on too!
Oh god, ham sandwiches--blah! Think I'm going to go downtown at get me an artery-busting Paul's Special: roast beef, bacon, smokey cheddar and red onions on a sourdough roll. MMmmmmmm
Oh, and the spelling mistake on the homework photo is priceless.
I have one thing to say about this post.
Fish faces rule.
That is all.
Yeah fish faces are one of my specialties
