Culture

I woke up much earlier than I had planned to today and decided to get up and walk to Isu and do some grocery shopping. It is really hot outside but a nice day for a walk non the less. Usually older Korean women give me strange or angry looks and it is something I've gotten used to..but today I was pleasantly suprised. When I was next in line at the cash to pay an older lady came with only a carton of milk..I had tons of stuff so I told her she could go ahead of me. She made a little bit of a public display of what a kind foreigner I was and actually gave me the biggest bear hug ever! I love when people are sweet and kind as opposed to hateful towards me because I'm white. Now I've got a ton of groceries I'm going to cook some Greek food tonight and chillax and enjoy my aircon!

The worst is when Koreans won't sit next to me on the subway, or get on the same elevator as me...it makes me so sad!! I love, love, love those moments when they are nice to me!!

the nice moments happen just as often as the crappy ones, but the crappy ones are so much easier to dwell on! it's good to dwell on the nice moments for a change!
