Paragliding Part 2

Yeah! Some pics of me!! Thanks ladies for passing those along :)

After Heidi and Jes jumped everyone sort of abandoned RL and I on the plateau and we were left to lay in the sun for about 45 mins before someone drove back up the mountain to get us. There were only 2 tandem instructors so we had to wait until after lunch for our jumps. We went to a little place at the bottom of the mountain for some food. RL and I weren't too interested in eating. We wanted to jump already!!!! Finally we headed back up and RL was first up. RL was a super trooper! I think because she was sooo much taller then her instructor, when they took their running start something went wrong when they almost lifted and they crashed. I swear to God my heart stopped beating in my chest. I have never felt panic like that before. When she stood up it was the most relief I have ever experienced. After going down into the grass face first she walked back up and tried again. The next take off was beautiful as was her landing. I'm glad we got to jump around the same time because we got some pics of us getting into our gear! I was stoked! I think the look on my face is a dead give away :)

I guess they saved the best for last, ME! I was calm and ready I wasn't the least bit nervous! We ran and took off without a problem. IT WAS AWESOME. I expected to feel butterflies or something in my stomache like when you are on a rollercoaster, there was nothing. It was just calm and easy. The guy I jumped with was really great and he kept trying to scare me by stopping the glide and then letting it fall a bit then moving again. I guess he wasn't aware of the fact that I get off on rushes like that!!! It was great. Seeing the road and the water and trees beneath my feet was amazing. It was certainly a THRILL RIDE! Everything was going so well until..it was time to land. We came in too low and the landing surface was hard clay and rocks. I was told on touch down to start running but we were so low I couldn't stand up properly and well I did a face plant into the rocks and we were dragged a bit by the shoot. So I'm kinda banged up but it was sooooooo worth it!!!!!!!!!! I'm totally ready to jump out of a plane now! Which will be in the spring :) RL got pics of me coming into land and well on the ground tangled up. Sadly no video of my jump cause I wasn't there to take it.

After we finished our guide (Seong) took us to a famous cave area. I'll post about that tomorrow.
