11/11
Today in Korea it is PEPERO DAY. A strange little holiday where Koreans give each other boxes of Pepero chocolates. It's mostly kids who do it and it becomes a popularity contest to see who gets the most Pepero sticks. They are pretty tasty chocolates and I got a TON of them yesturday (my kids are going to be eating Pepero for a week). While other countries are honouring vets and those lost in battle today, Koreans are eating chocolate sticks that look like 11's. In Canada, it is Rememberance Day. I would usually be sporting a poppy and putting all my change into a donation box for the vets but..today I'll just remember and give thanks in my head.
On to brighter things..enjoy this video of H Class performing Come on Get Happy by The Partridge Family. We will be performing this song in two weeks at an old age home visit our school is doing. I think if we had a coloured bus we could hit the road and tour for sure!
It's a beautiful day out..I'm really in rough shape from last night..but I'm going to walk to Isu and get some groceries and make something yummy. I'm supposed to go to a dinner for Beaks tonight with work people but after last night and all the mixing Jes and I did..I think I'll sit this one out.

Wow Pepero day again already. That means that it's exacly one year since I last taught a class in Korea, tomorrow will be a year since I last got hideously drunk to the point of crying and Monday will be exacly one year since I left Korea. Time flies.
Oh yeah, wearing poppies too. Same as in England.
I distinctly remember that cry....sometimes you just gotta let it out though...time certainly does fly!
Funny that you should remember it. I only vaguely remember the fact that I was crying in some bar whilst dancing.
the reason I remember it so well is because it was on my shoulder :)
That stuff looks just like Pocky.....same cept different?
what is pocky??
It's japanese candy. Chocolate covered candy sticks....it's pretty darn tasty.
Damn...now I want sushi..Mmmmmmm
So now i am curious, what kind of goodies does Korea offer?
Korea has many goodies..if you enjoy dried squid jerky there is a plethera of it here..their chocolate treats are also excellent..um..jars of cold bugs to eat..so many things!
