My song of the day. One of my favorite bands from the 90s. I had to buy this cd twice because I played it so hard!

Here's Where the Story Ends by The Sundays

It's almost over

Tomorrow is our Kids Club graduation day. The day I have to say goodbye to my kindergarten students (well three of them anyway) and finish off the term. I had to pack up H class and move everything over to E class. Luckily Scott was very accomodating and let me move all of my things in while he was still in there. There are boxes and boxes of my stuff. It is amazing how much you collect after two years in one room. When I look back I'm happy with the way my kindergartens have progressed and I'm anxious to start teaching my new kindergarten class. Lots to do this week! We don't actually teach classes until Monday but we have to go in tomorrow for an hr or so then off the auditorium, Thursday is a holiday (which is great cause we will all get crap faced tomorrow), Friday we have to go in to decorate our classes and clean up and meet parents. An easy week really.

I got an e-mail from Raydon's mom (sadly one of my favorite kids who is leaving me for D class). She sent me photos from this past Saturday's lunch..I look like CRAP in these pics..but she also sent me pictures of Raydon and his little brother Ming Jae (whom I adore!). They are so cute. She's asked me to come over to their home for Raydon's birthday party which I am excited about!

Raydon's mom is sitting beside me in the grey shirt

One more..this is ironic because I love sunflowers so much I have one tattooed on my body.

I am a Sunflower
"When your friends think smile, they think of you. There is not a day that goes by that you can't find something good about the world and your fellow human."

What Flower
Are You?

I stole this from Ian it tells me what tarot card I am...

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

Hahaha I like the part about mental problems and meds hehehe I don't have any but that made me laugh.

Has Hollywood lost all sense of what constitutes as a great film? The Departed is the shittiest film I've seen in a VERY long time. I can't believe it beat Babel seriously?? What the fuck? Other than Alan Arkin winning (which I predicted!!) and Helen Mirren for The Queen (she wasn't my pick but it was a great film) and Forest Whitaker for The Last King of Scotland (I would have been fine with him or Ryan Gosling winning) the rest of the awards sucked! I was going to download it to watch it but frankly I can tell it isn't worth watching.

If you are looking to watch an interesting film that is dark and fucked and happy at the same time..watch Shortbus it is by director John Cameron Mitchell who also did Hedwig and the Angry Inch. If you are a homophobe (and if you are you should die) then don't watch this film.

Today I have made a promise to myself..

1.Three hours everyday at the gym

2.After this week (due to two parties) I am not going to drink more than one drink when I go out until May 1st.

3.I do not want to see men or be around men unless they are gay until further notice.

My song of the day....

The Hit Parade by Unkle Bob

My Saturday

Last night Rachel Lynn, Jayme Lee, Raegen, and to my great joy Jes, came over for some pre drinkage before we headed off to Itaewon. I always tell myself I'll stay away from Itaewon but I get sucked in everytime. I discovered that Raegen keeps a small pot of gold coins in her bra and Jayme Lee was a porn star in a past life. We had a GREAT time! Jes left a little early because of her drunken state so the rest of us headed over to Pulse where I spent a good part of an hour chatting with Jes' friend Ray, who actually was a really great guy but due to my drunken state last night probably thinks I'm fucking crazy. Afterwards we ended up in Friend bar dancing like fools then Raegen dragged us to Kings Club. The last thing I clearly remember is the bacon and egg mcmuffin and orange juice at 6 or so in McDonalds. Today I'm going to lay in a vegetative state and watch Grey's Anatomy.

In the words of Raymond..I'm fucocked

I never realized how freakin awesome all my kid's moms were until today. We all met for lunch at VIPS in Apgujeong. It was so great seeing the kids outside of the classroom! I got some lovely Chanel perfume too! Julie's mom drove me home and we had a good chat because we were stuck in traffic for an hour. Turns out all the moms want to set me up and get me married! I had a good laugh at that. Unfortunately the batteries in my camera were dead and I was able to snap 1 pic and that's all. Luckily the moms were snapping away so I'm going to ask them to e-mail me the ones they took and then I'll post them. Now I've got to clean my house and get ready for Jamie Lee and RL who are coming over at 7 for some cocktails then we're going out. Should be a fun night!

It's strange..I spent the night tonight with people (well some people) I would never normally hang out with and I had an excellent time! Scott, Ben, Raegan, Raymond, Rachel Lynn and Jamie Lee (the new teacher) and I went on a mart crawl. Which means every single 7 Eleven, Family Mart, By the Way, LG, or mart of some sort we passed on the walk home we had to stop and drink a beer. I lost count of how many we passed but enough for me to forget the chill in the air! We all went for dinner afterwards which ended in us getting asked to leave because they wanted to close up for the night. I really had a good time. Jamie Lee is really great and I'm happy to be meeting "cool" people other than my most excellent friends for once! Tomorrow I have to get up and meet all of my kindergarten students and their moms for lunch in Apgujeong which should be fun then out with RL and Jamie Lee for drinks and fun in Itae tomorrow.

Lately I've been missing home. Why is that?

Cause I really love this home too..I can't wait until July so I can go back to Ottawa for a vacation.

It would be so awesome if this damn bronchitis would just go away already! I'm tired of sounding like an old Korean man hacking up his lungs in the street!

I think I hurt my gluteus maximus at the gym from all the squats I did!

Monday, February 19, 2007

I just finished watching The Trailer Park Boys movie. I don't miss Canada very often (except for my fam and friends of course) but watching it made me home sick!

My Long Weekend..

Oh no thanks, I don't need help, I'm looking for a man.

Seriously, I'm seriously not a serious person at all.

Never! Leave a loose hole.

God her hair is so lacklustre!

So of all the celebs in the world, the one I despise the most is Britney Spears. I've always disliked her and found her to have ZERO talent. Alot of that has to do with my radio days and having to spin her tracks without projectile vomiting all over my audio board. I got a good laugh at her expense when I found out she shaved her head. Seriously someone should take away her kids and lock her up in the looney bin! I'm sorry folks but this is some seriously funny shit!

Say hay boke-mahn he pah du say oh!

Or Happy New Year in English. With a glance outside my window, the sky is overcast but there isn't too much of a chill in the air. I'm getting ready to go and meet Raymond for some delicious breakfast at Suji's then perhaps a few mid afternoon cocktails somewhere. I'm looking forward to it. This city will be DEAD DEAD DEAD this weekend. With everyone being away for the holiday. Solnal and Chuseok are the quietest times of the year in this huge city. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend whatever they do!

Seriously? Seriously? Why must there be week gaps between Grey's Anatomy episodes?

Graduation and good news

When I got home tonight I noticed that I had missed 3 calls from Sunny in the time I left school. I called her back right away and she said there was a big problem. She then told me that the 4 kindy kids that were supposed to be moved from my class had mental break downs at home when they found out they were going to D class. The moms called back to the school and told Sunny that the children had to stay with me. Thankfully Mrs.Oh (our school owner) said no problem! So I get to keep ALL of my kids! I can't tell you how happy I am about that! So really there was no problem at all!

On another note. Jin let me take home the graduation CD of the kids today. The photographer takes a zillion photos of the kids and it goes into a year book for them to keep. Here is H class. It brings a tear to my eye that I won't see them everyday anymore.

Some new pics I snagged from my school's website.

You know a holiday is approaching when the giant Spam gift packs start appearing in the grocery store! Did you know South Korea is the largest consumer of Spam outside the US? Really it's true you can read about it . It is a hot item to get this holiday season.

I'm so happy the long weekend is almost here you have no idea! 5 of my kids are sick with bronchitis and they thought to be kind enough and give it to me also. I was doing so great this year not being sick until the last few weeks. I had plans to go to Nowon and party it up with Adrian but I got meds today and I'm not sure if the partying is really going to happen for me this weekend. Perhaps just the gym everyday and relaxing. After this long weekend the next one is summer vacation so I have to enjoy this one!

The new teacher, Christie, helped me take down all the stuff in my classroom today. I thought it would have taken forever but we managed to take everything down in 20 minutes. My class has never looked so bare! I have to get all my things in order to move to E class in a week and a bit. I hate moving and I'm still the tiniest bit bitter on having to do so but at least I'm ready for it now.

I REALLY want to go to the gym right now but I'm looking around my disaster of an apartment and I think I should get that taken care of before it gets worse. Usually you can eat off the floor in my place it is so clean but I've been lazy this week because I've been going to the gym every night for two hours. One day off won't kill me I guess. I'll just make sure I go everyday this weekend to make up for taking one day off.

Now that I've rambled I'm going to go clean!

Happy Valentine's Day

Really what's the point of Valentine's Day if you aren't in a relationship? There is no point! But happy Valentine's Day anyway. Today I borrowed RL's camera so I could take some videos of my kids. Here a few for today (mostly I just made them for my moms so she could hear my kids chatting it up). I'll add some more videos tomorrow. I took a great one of their graduation performance practice but it's too big for YouTube so I might cut it up into pieces and then post it.

We also studied the effects of crude oil on the ocean during a spill today in science. The kids were a little disturbed at what it does to animals but they liked the experiment.

And this is Sally. She has been dropping by my class everyday after school for a hug and to say hi for almost a year now. She is in E class. I am taking over for E class in 2 weeks and Sally is pretty excited she gets to see me all day. She even told me :)

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

I see you looking at me. Don't think I can't see you.

I didn't realize how much I loved and missed the gym until I started going again! I shouldn't have waited this long but better late than never! Keeping in the spirit of working out here is my song of the day..

this one is just because it's sooooo awesome :)

Monday, February 12, 2007

I joined the gym and tonight I went and sweated like a crazy person and I feel awesome! Also Moms..thanks for the AMAZING Valentine's package you sent! I LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH!

Sunday, February 11, 2007

Sundays are usually the day I watch movies and clean house. I just finished watching The Last King of Scotland. Forest Whitaker was so fabulous in this movie he definitely deserves the Oscar win! I thought Ryan Gosling did for Full Nelson but after seeing this film I've changed my mind. I love political films that have something to say and this film certainly did.

Today is a SPECIAL day

Last night RL came over to my place and we had a few drinks then headed off to Hongdae. We hadn't eaten so we went to this restaurant that LOOKED good. It was called Penang or something like that. The place was freezing until they turned on the heat which just kept blowing in RL's face the entire time, the food was bland and unappetizing. We ate so fast and got the heck outta there. We started in US 66 at the bar and didn't leave until I got so drunk I couldn't see anymore. I love Rachel Lynn.

The yucky restaurant

This morning this guy is NOT my favorite person

I love us

Got up early and went across town to Sincheon to get my hair done. Finally a place that listens to what I want and does a good job. If you are looking for a nice salon with good prices where they do a GOOD job go to Juno Hair. I will NEVER go to Toni and Guy in Apgujeong again. My hair isn't as blond as I wanted..actually isn't really blond at all. She put highlights but they look really natural on top of the brown. Regardless it looks nice and she gave me the exact haircut I asked for so I'm happy. I can always get more blond another time. Now I'm getting ready for a night out with RL which should be fun we haven't been to Hongdae in a LONGGGG time!

There was a death in my family and my thoughts are with all of my family gathered in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Mom and Dad, I hope you made it there safely.

The BONER

This morning I was at my desk marking work and the kids had gathered around Danny and were poking what I thought was his stomach until I walked over to investigate. I asked them what was going on and Danny came over to me and said, "Look teacher!" and I started back at him trying not to look mortified by the large boner in his jogging pants. I'm not sure if he'd ever had one before but he was highly amused by it as were the other kids. I didn't want to make him feel bad so I told him not to let the other kids touch and he should just leave it alone and it would go away. He looked at me with the most innocent eyes and said, "It's getting bigger teacher!". I almost bit my tongue in half to suppress the laughter!

Just got back from a longg Costco adventure with Raegan and Raymond. I have tons of food now so I'm stoked. Gotta hit the sack soon so I can get up early for my 10 o'clock hair appointment across town. A nice good chop and some blond locks is just what I need right now! Then out with RL tomorrow to hopefully dance and be an asshole in some bar somewhere!

My song of the day....

Some good news

Finally! I know what my classes and schedule will be next term. The schedule is exactly what I thought it would be...with one day off just not sure if it is Tuesday or Thursday. I am only losing 4 of my kindy kids, although the four that are going are my favs, and I will get to keep 8 of the 12. So that is good news. Also I am only getting two kids from D class and they aren't horrible kids so I can handle them. Also two new kids so we'll see how they fit in. I'm as satisfied as I can be with the changes so all is right with the world once again.

My day

Things at work are getting headachey!! It's the end of the year and a new term is starting March 2nd. So we have graduation to practice and worry about, new schedules and new kids and possibly new classrooms. Everyone at work seems stressed and tired, especially the Korean staff and frankly I don't envy them at this time of the year at all. I've gotten bits and pieces as to what is happening in the next couple of weeks but we must wait until next week for the OFFICIAL word. Really at this point as long as I get off early one day a week then I'm cool.

Things in H class are great though. We did this messed up science today which involved a balloon and a straw and tape on bird faces and wings. I guess it was supposed to be about air pressure but you had to put the straw in a balloon and use an elastic to keep the seal tight. Then blow up the balloon and pull the straw out. It worked to some degree but the elastics didn't keep an air tight seal so one you stopped blowing the balloon the air started to come out so the kids just tossed it and watched it spin on the floor. They thought it was fun.

Kaylee went home early today because she was sick so her mom only sent her for half of the day. Anyway her mom is one of my favorite moms. She has ALWAYS been very kind to me. She gives GREAT gifts too. Today she came in with this box for me and I was a little confused because Lunar New Year isn't until next weekend. Anyway it was a birthday present for me. I love getting makeup and chocolate!!!

Sunny told me that Raydon's mom wants to have us over for dinner which I think would be great because I am very curious to see how my kids are outside of school and where they live! I am also going to try and plan a dinner for my kids and their moms before graduation..busy busy! I can't wait for the weekend! Raegan, Raymond and I are joining the gym, and I'm getting my hair cut and I'm going back to a blonder shade. I can't wait!

I have 4 more episodes of Grey's Anatomy and I'm completely caught up. Seriously Andree if you read this you better be proud of me. I watched season 1 and 2 and all of season 3 so far in less than a week. It helped I was so sick and bed ridden all weekend but now you can talk to me all about McDreamy! Gonna go watch the rest now!

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

I'm not stoked about losing my kids however I found out today I don't have to change classrooms. I'm very happy that I get to remain in H class, as it has been my classroom for 2 years. Seems I'm not the only one at work getting a shitty deal student wise next term so I'm just gonna zip it and smile like I always do. Keeps them lovin me!

Since it is pretty much official now and the kids know..I can introduce you to my new kids! I am getting E class! They are going to be second year 7 year olds. Which is the same age as my kids were this year so it's cool. They are a good bunch of kids and pretty cute too! I couldn't find good pics of them on my school's webpage but I'll have an entire year to take loads of em!

Devastated..

Being a teacher means sharing your knowledge and wisdom with a variety of children. Children come and go and your classes change. I realize that, I've been teaching for almost 7 years in some facet. I understand change. However..I found out tonight my kindergarten are being split up in March when they start attending elementary school. They took some placement test and the stronger kids are being put in one class and the weaker kids in another. ALLL of my favorite kids who bring so much joy to my day..are going to the other class. I will still keep a few of them but I am getting the weaker kids from my class and D class (D class kids SUCK!). I was told I am getting the weaker kids because my teaching abilities are strong and they think I can make progress with them, that's nice and all but I want to keep my class together. I feel like crying my eyes out!!!

Sunday, February 04, 2007

I was chillin out listening to music wishing the throbbing in my head would go away..but it hasn't. Anyway I was listening to a great band called The Weepies. Not sure if you've heard of them but here is my pic for the song of the day..the band doesn't have a video that I could find for this song but I like this little montage since it is from one of my favorite shows..but you can still enjoy the awesomeness of the song..

The World Spins Madly On - By The Weepies

My time has come

I have avoided a cold all winter and now my time has come. I feel like someone smacked me in the head with a hammer and my sinuses feel like they are going to explode. I think I'll spend the day pumping my self full of vitamin C and Dayquil and laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy.

Here is a song for Cam..

Saturday, February 03, 2007

I stole this from Trojan hope she doesn't mind. It's my Sexy Zodiac.

AQUARIUS:Does it in the water

Trustworthy. Sexy. Great kisser. One of a kind. Loves being in
long-termrelationships. Extremely energetic. Unpredictable. Will exceed your expectations. Not a Fighter, But will Knock your lights out. Amazing
in bed, THE BEST LOVERS BETTER THAN EVERYONE!

For those reading back home in Ottawa (mainly Andree), Angelle arrived in Seoul just fine and we met up for dinner and a few beers last night. She leaves today but seems to be healthy and okay from her trek to India.

Here are some other pics from last night too. Seriously we have to stop closing Geckos!

I'm not sure about this new secret handshake or um chest shake, I walked into last night. Is this supposed to replace the C 5? Or is it a new addition?

Friday, February 02, 2007

You better work...supermodel!

I was sitting in class correcting work when Caleb, sauntered over to me with a sheepish grin on his face. He asked if I had my camera in my bag and when I said I did, he asked if we could have a small photoshoot. I'm not sure where he learned that word but I went with it. He needs a little work :)

Thursday, February 01, 2007

Tomorrow is Friday yippeee!

Seriously last week was nice and crisp. Perfect walking weather. This week it feels like we can't get a break from the icey cold windy air! I can't take it anymore!!!

Here is the song of the day...well as it was decided by my kids. They're all about cheezy 80's and early 90's beats!

IT'S FAWKING COLD OUTSIDE!!! BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
