What a freakin day!

Today was our annual field trip to the Seoul Race track. It was bloody hot, it was kinda fun, and the fruit was good. After the kiddies went home and my older kids came, I found out from Sunny that Dylan, whom I've taught since I arrived in Seoul and was in my old kindy class, is moving to Australia on Monday and today was his last class. No warning from his folks..NOTHING!!!!!!!!! Dylan is like my own child for fuck sakes!! He and I just hugged and cried for the rest of the day..now I'm totally bummed out and sad..I'm going to miss him something fierce. Today was a pre-curser to what will happen when I have to say goodbye to all my old kindies and move home..it is NOT going to be a good time.

Could it be any hotter??

Seriously it hit 40 degrees this afternoon..talk about HOT! I met up with the Kim family at Outback in Sadang for lunch. They are lovely people..afterwards they dropped myself and Jenny off at the Dream EZ for the afternoon. I really had fun hanging out with just Jenny. If I am going to miss 1 kid when I leave this country..she's it. We watched movies, went for icecream, ate pizza, and had tons of fun. She insisted on a manicure once she saw all my polish bottles and had a wonderful time with my magnetic poetry. A good day all in all..but I'm hot and tired and I'm going to sit down and relax and watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
Jenny and I hot and sweaty cause she wouldn't let me turn the aircon on cause she was cold!

Jenny loved my magnetic poetry

Jenny couldn't understand why my bed was so high. It really is very high.

If I could adopt this girl and take her to Canada I would in a heart beat. How freakin cute is she??!! I can't stand it!

Jenny's manicure she was pretty darn excited about it.

Today I'm hanging out with Kim Ji Won (or Jennifer in English) my favorite kid of all time. She has been a student of mine for the last three terms. She was in my kindergarten for two years and now she is in my grade 1 class. I'm meeting her family for lunch then she is going to come back to my place to watch a movie. Should be an interesting day to say the least.

Thoughts

Lately I've been wondering why I re-signed my contract for another year (other than the obvious monotary reasons). I think Korea is starting to lose it's magic for me and I'm getting BORED. Perhaps my upcoming trip home to Canada will re-fule my fire for Seoul..or maybe I'll just wanna stay there. Hmmm...

Today in E class

Sally dressed like a bunny. Not sure why though because it is almost June but she rocked it out. We all ate icecream cause it was bloody hot outside!

What a week..

No photos to post because I didn't take any this week. It was a long and busy week at work so I'm happy the weekend is here (although now, almost over). Went out with Rachel Lynn and met up with Raegen, Jess, and Jamye Lee. We stayed out till all hours and had lots of fun. Today was the Lotus Lantern Festival in Insadong. We all went and shortly after I arrived I realized I had forgotten to put my inhailer in my purse. When that happens I panic myself and could have an asthma attack. So I had to leave..missing the festival..the lantern making and everything..I'm soooo PISSED off at myself right now.

Teacher's Day

I wish everyday was Teacher's Day. A Korean holiday where teacher's are rewarded with gifts and if they are lucky a day off of work! I got some beautiful presents this year including a tres expensive Swarovski necklace that I love! I also received an envelope of cash which, I think for Koreans, is a strange thing to do for someone who is not family. Lot's of makeup (which I love!), perfume, a hat which I thought was awesome cause I was going to buy a ball cap, and other goodies. This picture only shows some of my gifts. It's like Christmas in mid May!

My weekend didn't turn out at all like it was supposed to. Rachel Lynn and I were supposed to go to Everland but it poured rained. So instead, we went to Wolfhound and drank for the entire afternoon, evening, and early into the morning. We were joined by everyone over the course of the evening. Due to Jagermeister and other beverages, I'm not feeling very spectacular today. We'll try to do Everland again next weekend. I think the photo speaks volumes as to our condition last night.

There hasn't been much going on this week to blog about, hence the lack of posting. I did have a nice evening with the gang last night but forgot to bring my camera! Tomorrow I'll be heading to Everland with Rachel Lynn then out for some dancing! I'm really looking forward to this Friday being over and the weekend FINALLY being here.
