So Long 2007

I can't say that 2007 was a terrible year, as I did many wonderful things and traveled to some excellent places. It was a year for change and saying goodbye to dear friends and making some new ones. I am looking forward to 2008 and moving home after 3 years in Korea to start the next chapter of my life. I wish everyone a very happy and safe new year!

Friendship

It is so wonderful to be with Nihal and Samaa again. Before they came I was feeling a little homesick (which tends to happen around the holidays) but it's like having a little piece of home here with me. Nihal gave me some lovely presents from Libya including an awesome handmade rug with a camel on it. I love love camels!! I hope everyone everywhere had a lovely Christmas.

Reunited

Finally, after a few days of missed connections and airport drama, Nihal, Samaa and I are together again! It's like no time has passed and we've picked up where we left off. This is going to be a great week!

Stressin..just a lil

I'm back from the airport after the LONGEST bus ride ever with Samaa. I'm so happy she is here however, Nihal was supposed to have met her in Dubai and been on the same flight but she wasn't!!! So we have no idea where Nihal is and she has no clue how to get to me when she lands in Seoul. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Today is the day!

My two best friends from University, Samaa and Nihal, land in Seoul this afternoon. We spent everyday together when we were in Uni but haven't been all together since we graduated in 2005. Samaa and I were together last Christmas and New Years in Cairo but I have not seen Nihal since she left Canada to move back to Libya in June 2005. I have a feeling this week is going to be one to remember!

Blame Samaa for the bad lighting

Lee Myung-bak

So South Korea has a new president this morning, Lee Myung-bak of the Grand National Party. He looks a whole lotta crazy so good for him for taking the lead! I hope to see more of his antics in parliament (or whatever they call it here) on CNN!

The weekend

I had my 11 year olds over which was a great time. They were so well behaved and we all watched The Goonies (my favorite movie of all time) they loved it! Then I went to Bliss to celebrate Ted's 10th anniversary. All I can say is I should know by now to EAT before going to a bar. Thanks Cam for taking me to a cab xoxo

THERE IS A BLIZZARD OUTSIDE OF MY WINDOW!! ICK!!!

I'm sitting in my apartment relaxing and sipping champagne. Why? Because I'm freaking amazing and should toast to my awesomeness more regularly! I am also trying to forget the fact that a bunch of 11 year olds are coming over for Christmas Party at the Dream EZ part deux! At least tomorrow night I will be in adult company enjoying adult fun times! Cheers!

It's official

It's going to be a Libyan, Egyptian, Canadian Christmas in Seoul! Next weekend can't get here fast enough :)

Will this week just end already??!!

I am ready for the weekend and it's only Wednesday. I am looking forward to seeing my friends this weekend to celebrate Ted's 10th Anniversary of Bliss being open, my older kids are coming over for a party (there will only be 6 of them and they are 11 years old so hopefully much more controlled than the last bunch!) and a Sunday of sleeping in. I am definitely down with all of that! Then next weekend will be here before I know it and I'll be reunited with my best pal Samaa which has got me VERY excited. I'm also looking forward to Carl Cox New Years Eve since I'm FINALLY going to be with my favorite dancing buddy EVER in a club with good HOUSE music wooohooo!!!!!

Also everyone back home should keep their eyes on their mailboxes. I finally got all of my Christmas mail and goodies out today. xo

Have 2 hours?

I was shown this documentary by a good friend and I RECOMMEND it to everyone. It is in 3 parts each about a different topic however it was worth watching and you may look at some certain issues in the world in a totally new light. I know I did.

They don't make amazing children's tv like this anymore

Raymond came over last night and we were goofing on youtube and he was showing me children's tv programs that he watched in Ireland as a kid and I showed him clips from my favorite children's show..seriously these are more funny now I think then they ever were in my childhood.

My favorite show

12 kids and 1 exhausted teacher.

The kids came, they ate, they played, they opened presents, they watched movies, they destroyed my apartment, then they left. It was fun but I am EXHAUSTED!!!

Not sure I'm ready!

My house is sparkling and in about 2 hrs there will be 12 little boys and girls at my door ready for a Christmas party!

20 days until Christmas. Wow! I love how time just creeps up on you! It seems like yesterday it was July and I was home in Canada. My best friend is going to be here in 18 days and my winter holiday starts in 15 days. Good things are a comin! I do find myself in a bit of a quandary though. I have been invited to 5 different events on Saturday the 15th. I don't want to turn anyone down. I could really use Santa's sleigh that night for sure!

Another weekend over

Seriously the weekends fly by too quickly even when I'm not doing much of anything! I was successful in my cleaning yesterday which took from 1pm until 11pm. I did stop and have a cocktail or two though. 12 bags of trash later my place looks immaculate. I didn't realize how much clothes and junk I had that I did NOT need. So it's all gone and I feel good about how great my space now is. I am a neat freak though so how I found things to clean for 10 hrs is beyond me but it was done. Now it's Sunday night and I have to go to sleep in 2hrs in order to wake up at 520am to hit the gym with Jamye Lee I think part of me is a masochist or something. Hope everyone had a good weekend and my family back home is feeling better and over their colds. xoxo

Today I am relieving stress.

These last few weeks have been stressed packed to say the least. Usually I'm the kind of person who doesn't let stress get to them and I've been trying really hard to keep my cool and not let it bother me too much. I'm really thankful that our winter vacation is coming up in 3 weeks. I'll have 12 days of no work and all play which will really be a welcome to change right now. It also helps my best friend is coming to stay with me for the holidays. Last year I went to Egypt to be with her and this year she is returning the favor. However, I realized that I really need to get my apartment in order if I am going to be having house guests. What better way to relieve my stress than cleaning. I'm sort of a crazy person and I think I may have a touch of OCD. Cleaning however makes me feel good and really is a stress reliever! So I have my bucket of cleaning supplies and my swiffer in tow. I'm not going to stop until the ceiling is sparkling!

A few pics I had yet to add. These kids are coming to my house on the 15th of December. That should be an interesting afternoon!
